ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT
In
celebrating of 3rd Founding Anniversary of 0ST Tayabas Heritage
Group Incorporated is formerly known as “OPLAN SAGIP TULAY”, the group had Aeta
Community Outreach Program with the theme of “Celebrating and Empowering Heritage
of Creative Communities”. The program was held on November 23, 2019, at 9:00 in
the morning.
Before
the event, the OST prepared all the things needed to the program including the
sound system, foods, tarpaulin, the sequence of program and gifts. Ms. Julie Cox
also prepared her gifts and she is also the partner of OST in this outreach
program.
OPENING CEREMONY
The program was managed by the masters of the ceremony Mr. Luis Zarsaga and Mheybel
Cabañas.
As
a start of the program, the doxology was led by Mr. Ernest Aranilla and
followed by Philippine National Anthem headed by Mr. Irvin Christian Francia.
They are both OST-THG members.
After
that, the masters of the ceremony played the OST- THG Official Sound Track
composed by Mr. Ian Avegail Buduan.
For
a wonderful start of the program, Mr. Michael Vincent L. Pabulayan, the OST-THG
Chairperson gave welcome remarks. He talked about the aim of the program and
the reason why the group did the program. Ms. Keissy Palma Rayel, the OST-THG
Vice- Chairperson also talked about a brief history of the group for them to know
well the Oplan Sagip Tulay (OST).
The
OST group not only want to help them for their basic needs but also to give
them hope to be responsible citizens and to achieve their dreams. So that
Hon. Rommel Barrot (Chairperson, Brgy.
Tongko), Mr. Ronnie Magtibay (Aeta
Governor) and Ms. Julie Cox (Founder,
Julie Cox Love Mission) awake their spirit by giving an inspirational
message.
Not every one of the aeta community knows their rights in the society so that Mr.
Aldwin Castro discussed the Indigenous
People Right Act so the aeta will learn about their rights. In the
discussion, one aeta raised his voice about the owning of the land where they
are and in the end, he knew that they have the right to own the land according to
the law. Next, Mr. Manolo Labitigan ( LGU
Tayabas Housing Coordinator) discussed the Aeta Community Housing Program.
The Aetas are very excited about the start of this program.
The
program become cheerful when Palaro ng Lahi was started. The children of aeta
divided into two groups. It good to see that they loved to play the traditional
games of Filipino.
After playing games, Ms. Julie Cox and Ms.
Keissy Rayel gave gifts and slippers to the aeta community then the OST-THG
gave foods to them as their lunch. The day was ended with a smile in their faces and invaluable happiness in the heart
of every OST- THG members.
